I had to share this with you all because it is a very cute story with my son involving a butterfly.
Logan and I went to my one brother-in-law and sister-in-laws home to get their mail and paper while they are on a little trip with the kids.
We went out on the deck, before going home so Logan could play a little in their big beautiful fenced back yard.
All of a sudden I here this high pitched "Mommy a big butterfly look" sure enough there it was. My son went running over to it and I reminded him that he could only look and not touch the butterfly or it would not be able to fly back to it's home.
The butterfly lands on a rock and Logan goes over to it and bends way over to look at it. He is bent so far over the butterfly I think he is going to fall on it.
Logan never touches the butterfly and it never moves. Another high pitch of excitement "mommy look at it"
He starts to talk to the butterfly "hello butterfly, how are you, I am Logan" this goes on for Quite some time.
I realize it is getting late and almost dark, time to get home, so I tell my son "honey we have to get home now"
He says okay and turns around to the butterfly and says "goodbye butterfly, see you tomorrow" and then the butterfly flew away as Logan was coming up the deck steps.
I tell this would have been such a wonderful camcorder moment.

How cute! Yes, you definitely need to have your camcorder strapped to yourself when you have a toddler! Take it with you the next time you go. If the butterfly is still there, it would be super to see his reaction!
Their so cute and innocent at this age. I remember when my son at 2 1/2 hugged and talked to a child mannequin for about 10min on the streets of Israel.
I've read your articles on the troubles with 2's. Because of their naivety you can use puppets, stuffed animals, big dolls ect.. to persuade them to do the things that's important, to understand and to behave. They love it, also to make them happy.
They can't all be camcorder moments and the keyboard rarely fails. :)
Thanks for sharing. That is beyond sweet.
I know lakelandmom, I think they should make hip holders. lol
Very good idea anonymous, that is something I haven't tried.
So true Chuck. :)
And thank you.
